Humility is a part of someone’s character that is typically admired (at least from the perspective of an obituary), but how do you grow in it? How do you become a humble person? Richard Foster says, “More than any other single way, the grace of humility is worked into our lives through the discipline of service.”

Jesus said, “come to me…and I will give you rest”, but most of us don’t have time for that do we? Even if we did, what does it mean to truly rest? We’ve definitely mastered entertainment, but we probably wouldn’t relate our latest Netflix binge to Jesus’ invitation here, would we? (Wait does “The Chosen” count??) Dallas Willard once said, “hurry is the great enemy of spiritual life in our day.” What would it look like to lean in and learn together from our “never-in-a-hurry” rabbi?
